Administrators - Principal

About Me

My name is Anie Wells, and I feel very privileged to be the principal of Escuela Vista Grande! It is an honor to serve the students, parents and staff of our fast expanding Spanish Bilingual Program.

I am originally from the province of Quebec, and I moved to Alberta in 1989 to begin my teaching career in Rocky Mountain House as a French Immersion teacher. I then moved to Calgary to teach in a charter school while doing my Masters degree from the University of Portland. I have been an administrator for the Red Deer Public School District since 1998.

I have an amazing stepson, Jeremy, from my husband Bill. Our family also includes our lovely Jake, our Border Collie, as well as our two adorable cats, Mr. Tee and Ms. Bubbles.

My interests include learning languages, traveling, reading, watching movies and cooking. In the summer, I also enjoy gardening and golfing.

As always, I look forward to continuing to build a positive school culture focused on students’ growth and development, building rapport with our families, and making sure that the Spanish language and culture thrive in our school.
