My name is Victoria Sangama and I teach Spanish in Grade One.
I was born in Red Deer and raised in Central Alberta and in Calgary and surrounding area. I graduated from University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education Degree in 2005, and have been teaching in grades K-6 throughout the last 12 years. Most recently I taught Kindergarten at Escuela Pines, and then had the joy of taking a year of maternity leave to raise our daughter. I am returning to teaching half time for the first time in my career.
I have always had an interest in the Spanish language, but it was not until I moved to Peru that I really learned to speak Spanish. I lived in Peru for nearly 6 years, and I even met my darling husband, Dante, in Peru. I had many exciting adventures in Peru and other Spanish-speaking countries including Argentina, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay. I really enjoy traveling! I will share many of those stories in class!
I love spending time with my family and friends. I love animals, the great outdoors, coffee, chocolate, swimming, kickboxing, music and dance. I love learning new things!
I am excited to meet all of you and wish you a great year in Grade One!
