My name is Laura García and I am really excited to be your child’s third grade teacher.
I am from Tarragona, Spain. Tarragona is a coastal city with a wonderful Roman history just an hour from Barcelona. I love it! There are a lot of things to do and we have some of the most beautiful beaches of Spain’s Mediterranean coast.
If you're curious, take a look at Tarragona's official webpage:
I have two Bachelor’s degrees: one in Primary Education specialized in English and another one in English Philology. I received my Master's Degree of Education in 2016 and my Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics: Teaching Spanish to Speakers of Other Languages in 2018.
I can speak Spanish, Catalan, English and German. I love languages and experience new cultures. In 2014, I did a University exchange in Germany for a year and since then, I have been back every summer holiday to take language courses and visit my German friends.
I started working as an English teacher in a Language school in 2011. After, I went into formal education and I worked as a Primary teacher for three years in the same school where I grew up in Spain.
In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, reading, drawing, going to the movies, spending time with my family and friends and traveling!
I love living in Canada! Ever since I moved with my partner Clement and my lazy pug Ralph, I have lived amazing experiences in this country including the cold and the snow. I have also grown professionally and I have met a lot of new people who I can call my Canadian family now.
I am really looking forward to getting to know your kids, to having an amazing school year together and learning from them!
¡Un saludo para todos! ¡Nos vemos en Escuela Vista Grande!
