Teachers - Elementary
My name is Laura García and I am really excited to be your child’s third grade teacher.
I am from Tarragona, Spain. Tarragona is a coastal city with a wonderful Roman history just an hour from Barcelona. I love it! There are a lot of things to do and we have some of the most beautiful beaches of the Spain’s Mediterranean coast.
If you're curious, take a look at Tarragona's official webpage :)
I have two Bachelor’s degree: one in Primary Education specialized in English and a another one in English Philology. I received my Master's Degree of Education last year and I am currently studying another Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics: Teaching Spanish to Speakers of Other Languages which I expect to finish in March next year.
I can speak Spanish, Catalan, English and German. I love languages and travelling. In 2014 I did a University exchange in Germany for a year and since then, I have been back every summer holidays to take language courses and visit my friends there.
I started working as an English teacher in a Language school in 2011. Then, I went into formal education and I have been working as a Primary teacher for the past three years in the same school where I grew up.
In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, reading, drawing, watching movies, spending time with my family and friends and, as I mentioned before, travelling!
I am really looking forward to living in Red Deer, experiencing snow and having an amazing school year teaching your kids but also learning from them!
Luckily, I won't be alone...my lazy small pug, Ralph, is crossing the pond to take this amazing adventure with me!
!Un saludo para todos! Nos vemos muy pronto...
